Lights EP

I've been digging the self-titled EP from Lights all evening. It really is a great spin. Her debut full-length (The Listening) was released in October in the states. Check her out.

Wichita Choral Society - Handel's Messiah

I had the wonderful opportunity to record the Wichita Choral Society singing Handel's Messiah live at First UMC in downtown Wichita this weekend. The CD will be finished in the studio tomorrow! I was very excited to have the chance to record this event as I've been trying to record choral music for the past several years but had not yet had the chance to do so. I've recorded everything from jazz to metal to folk to hip-hop and now I've recorded some beautiful classical (Baroque) music!

One of my goals for this next year is to record as many local high school choirs as I can free of charge. I want them to have that experience... how can I do this? Well, I would create a CD and sell them back to the choir for a small profit (I will handle all applicable licensing and payments to the composers). This would cover my costs and would allow me to continue to offer this service to other schools. If you know of any Wichita area schools that would like to take me up on the offer just let me know either via this blog or email me (joshcaryaudio at gmail dot com).

Longest Week Ever

Since Monday I've been in the studio (The Brick House Studios) with Elliot Road. We've been working 12 hour days to get their new album done. It sounds so great! Also, tomorrow will be the final tweaks for the new Wesley Scott EP. I'll let everyone know when it's up on iTunes!

Also, I'm making a list of the "Top 10 Albums of the Last 10 Years." Everyone is welcome to send in their lists. I'll post them here when we get closer to 2010.
